Health Guidelines

Pelvic Exam - Any women who is or has ever been sexually active should have a pelvic exam by her OB/GYN every year until age 70.

Pap Test - Once a year until age of 70 for women who are or have ever been sexually active.

Breast Exam - Women ages 20 and older should have a yearly breast exam by their OB/GYN. All women should perform monthly breast self exam at the end of their periods.

Mammography - Women ages 40 and older should have a mammogram every year.

Colon Cancer - Beginning age 50 women should have an annual fecal occult blood test and a flexible sigmoldoscopy every 5 years.

Bone Density Test - Every woman should take calcium supplements and vitamin D to build an adequate bone mass. Bone mineral density test is recommended for post menopausal patient aged 65 and older.

Cholesterol Check - All women age 20 and above should have a fasting lipid profile every 5 years or more often depending on risk factors.
